Snapchat Spotlight · pay per 1,000 views
Snapchat Spotlight pay per view: what Spotlight actually pays
Spotlight asks for 50,000 followers and 15,000 hours of view time before you are even considered, and Snap publishes no rate at all. What that leaves, next to a clipping campaign accepting Snapchat posts.
Clipping rates are re-read from every live campaign we cover — last updated 2026-10-09. Platform payout figures are not ours: they are compiled from each platform’s published terms and from what creators report earning, and every one of them is dated below.
The short answer
Snapchat Spotlight pays roughly $0.10 to $1.00 per 1,000 views, through Snapchat's Monetization Program — and only once you are in it. Published thresholds qualify you to be considered, not to be admitted.
Clipping campaigns accepting Snapchat Spotlight posts are paying a median of $0.10 per 1,000 views right now, across 112 live campaigns — and the good end of that board is at $0.10. No follower minimum, no view threshold, no application to a partner programme.

What you have to clear before it pays anything
This is the half of the comparison that usually gets left out. The rate above is what you earn after clearing all of this:
- 15,000 hours of view time over the last 28 days, at least 3,000 of them from Spotlight
- Snap Star verification status
- 18 or over, or your country's age of majority, in an eligible country
- Spotlight videos must run at least 30 seconds to earn anything
- From 7 May 2026, at least 100 hours of Total Spotlight View Time over the last 28 days to qualify for maximum Creator Rewards
A clipping campaign asks for none of it. The account you post from can be a week old with forty followers; what the campaign buys is views on a clip, and it pays on the views the clip earns. That is the entire difference in access between the two, and for most people reading this it matters more than the difference in rate.
The same views, both ways
| Views | Snapchat Spotlight, low | Snapchat Spotlight, high | Clipping, median | Clipping, good campaign |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 100,000 | $10.00 | $100.00 | $10.00 | $10.00 |
| 1,000,000 | $100.00 | $1,000.00 | $100.00 | $100.00 |
| 10,000,000 | $1,000.00 | $10,000.00 | $1,000.00 | $1,000.00 |
Both clipping columns are read from the live board at the moment this page was rendered: 112 of the 112 live campaigns accepting Snapchat Spotlight publish a rate worth counting. The median is the middle of those; the good-campaign figure is the same weighted reading the rest of the site uses, so it matches what you will see on the rate index.
The honest caveat on this table cuts both ways. Campaign budgets run out, so a rate only pays while there is money behind it — and a clip has to be approved. But the views that merely qualify you to enter Snapchat Spotlight's programme are, on a campaign, simply paid — from the first clip, on an account with no history.
What the range doesn't say
Snap publishes no per-view rate at all — only that creators 'receive a share of revenue' from ads served alongside their content. The range here is the widest on any of these pages for that reason.
Published estimates of it disagree by an order of magnitude: some report $0.10 to $0.30 per 1,000, others $1 to $5. Treat the figure as an order of magnitude rather than a rate, and note that nobody quoting either end can show you Snap's formula.
The thresholds are published but the invitation is not: meeting all of them qualifies you to be considered for the programme, not to be in it. That is the difference between this and YouTube or TikTok, where clearing the bar admits you.

Another 112 are live but too new or too full to give away — those are the ones worth being early to.
Where these numbers come from
Two different places, and the difference matters more than either figure. The clipping rates are measured: read at render time from every live campaign ClipRadar covers, and shown as an em dash rather than an estimate when the read fails.
The Snapchat Spotlight figures are compiled. No platform publishes a per-view rate, so the eligibility thresholds come from the platform’s own terms and the payout range from what creators report earning. It is a range for that reason: anyone quoting a single RPM for a pooled, revenue-shared programme is quoting somebody else’s page.
Snapchat Spotlight figures compiled from Snapchat's own Monetization Program help page and from creator-reported earnings. Last checked 2026-09-03.
